My name is Patricia Sullivan. I’m a metalsmith and studio artist – living in the suburbs of Philadelphia across the great Delaware River in Southern New Jersey for the past seventeen years. I spent seven incredible years prior, living in both New York City and the Hudson Valley in New York, where I studied at Parsons School of Design, moving onward to receive my second (post-graduate) degree in Fine Arts/Metals at SUNY New Paltz. I am a Philadelphia native, and while growing up, I was exposed to all of the wonderful art and music this region has to offer. I attended Temple University in Philadelphia and received my first Bachelor’s degree there before my sojourn to New York began. I’ve exhibited my artwork nationally, including the National Liberty Museum, Woodmere Art Museum, Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum and one of only thirty-four artists worldwide invited to exhibit my artwork at the Center for Craft, as part of Metalsmith Magazine‘s annual “Exhibition in Print – Moved By Metal: On Beauty as Interaction” by Guest Curator, Wendy Steiner. My multidisciplinary body of work incorporates digital art, metalwork and upcycled/repurposed materials to create one-of-a-kind objects.

      1. Many thanks Patricia!

You are far more qualified in arts than I am so I’d appreciate any feedback you could kindly provide to my works!

Warm greetings from a very cold Estonia : )

  6. Hey Patricia, your blog name and content is great and an important reminder that art is important.
Having coffee today with my mum and 2 sisters who are all creative…and we were all saying that the ability for people to create is sometimes suppressed and people can easily loose their ability to be creative. That’s what I love about blogs like yours…as it stirs those creative juices!
    Thanks

    1. Row, thank you so much for such lovely feedback. It’s encouraging to hear that you’ve been around other creative types in your own family no less! While neither of my parents or siblings were artists themselves, they all encouraged my creative side from a young age. But I’ve also been exposed to “the dark side” (lol!) of being surrounded in the exact opposite – where it was stifled by others. One has to make a choice I think to remove themselves from any bad situation where the desire and ability to create is stifled. I’m so happy to know that you find this blog encouraging to create – you’ve made my day! Thanks again, Row – I’ve been enjoying your blog equally as much!
